Registration Limit
Attendance is by pre-registration only and is limited. There are currently NO spaces left
Registration will close on 30 July 2009, or sooner if the registration limit has been reached
Tour Overview
An exciting opportunity to spend a week at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City with others from throughout the United States and Canada (see Research Trip Testimonials)
This is not a conference or seminar. Apart from a couple of classes designed to familiarize you with the Family History Library, our emphasis is to get you working in the Library. To maximize your chances of success professional researchers will be on hand to provide help and advice at regular intervals.
Countries Covered
We are able to provide specialized help for research in the United States, Canada, England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland and Germany.
Limited research assistance is also available for Holland, Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
For other countries the regular Library staff can usually help.
Hotel
The package includes six nights (Monday night through Saturday night, checking out Sunday morning) at the Salt Lake Plaza Hotel at Temple Square, next door to the Library!
Please be aware that the hotel has a No Smoking and a No Pets policy.
Research Activities
Professional researchers will be available to provide help to members of our group at regular intervals from 9.00am to 12 noon and 2.00pm to 5.00pm Tuesday through Saturday. (Thursday morning is a free morning for everyone).
Flexibility
There is no obligation to be at the Library all the time. You may wish to take an extra long lunch or take a break from research for a few hours or even a whole day. Similarly, the Group Activities are optional. You may prefer to remain at the Library (it remains open until 9pm Tuesday-Saturday) or do something else with your time.
Group Activities
- Monday Evening (Commencing 4.30pm) - Baked Potato Buffet and Event Introduction
- Tuesday Evening - Tour of Church History Museum.
- Wednesday Evening - Trip to the Hale Center Theatre
- Thursday Evening - Tabernacle Choir Rehearsal
- Friday Evening – Tour of Conference Center
- Saturday Evening - “Farewell” Roast Beef Dinner at the historic Lion House.
What do I get for my money?
INCLUDED:
- Six nights accommodations at the Salt Lake Plaza Hotel at Temple Square (Monday night through Saturday night, checking out Sunday morning). The Plaza provide a free shuttle between the airport and the hotel
- Help and advice from professional genealogists provided at regular intervals at the Family History Library from 9.00am to 12 noon and 2.00pm to 5.00pm Tuesday - Saturday. (Not available Thursday morning)
- Tours and activities described in “Group Activities” (Note: Should it be necessary, due to circumstances beyond our control, to cancel any of the above activities we will endeavor to replace these with similar alternatives but cannot guarantee this)
NOT INCLUDED:
- Air fare (or other travel costs)
- Meals (other than opening Baked Potato buffet and closing Roast Beef dinner)
- All other personal expenses

Payment
We are able to accept payment by the following methods:

- Credit or debit card
When completing the online registration form you will be asked to select your preferred payment method and will be taken to the appropriate page after submitting the form.
If you have chosen to pay by check you will be taken to a page with further instructions including our mailing address.
If you have chosen to pay by PayPal you will be taken to a secure page where you can log into your PayPal account
If you have chosen to pay by credit or debit card you will be taken to a secure page to make this payment. We have chosen PayPal to process credit or debit card payments on our behalf, but you do not need a PayPal account in order to pay by this method.
Cancellation
Before 30 July 2009 - In the event of cancellation up to and including 30 July 2009 we will either:
- Refund 80% of the registration fee
- Provide a full credit for attendance at a future event without penalty
After 30 July 2009 - In the event of cancellation after 30 July 2009:
- The registration fee will be forfeited with no refund payable
- Credit for attendance at a future event will be given subject to a re-registration fee of 10% of the fee already paid
Smoking
Please be aware that the Salt Lake Plaza Hotel at Temple Square has a No Smoking policy.
