Everyone was friendly and wanted to help. My husband who just came along because we were visiting children out west before we went home, has really gotten into researching his family as well. We are very pleased with our finds.

DONNA, Indiana

Your team are great. Thank them all from me. Nothing is too much trouble. Their knowledge is awesome and the resources unbelievable. Thank you for all your hard work and attention to our research week. I really did enjoy my time with you and the results were more than I expected. I will certainly be coming back next year

GEORGE, England

I have had an absolutely wonderful time and definitely plan on continuing to attend in the future

JO ANNE, Nevada

I just wanted to let you know how pleased I was with this trip. I accomplished my most important goal...finding out who my great-great grandfather on my father's side was-I had no name and only knew he was from Ireland. I now have his name and that of his wife and have that information in multiple ways that all check out so there is no mistake. What a gift...I also was able to confirm other family members information and add to what I had. The trip was well worth it and the help from your team of consultants helped me break through. I also learned multiple ways to research and sites to try with which I was not familiar and will be able to use that information once I get home. Thanks...would recommend this program to anyone

JACQUELINE, Texas

I thoroughly enjoyed this trip. It was not only a success for me but I am excited to visit my father's cousin soon to share with him my results. He has been looking for a maternal great-great grandfather since the 1960s and told me he wanted desperately to find this person. Also, my husband's 95 year old aunt always wondered about her great-grandmother. She always told me her great-grandmother was from a town south of Dublin. Thanks to Ancestor Seekers I found her.

SUE, Illinois

I want to thank you for all the work that goes into making these trips so fabulous, - especially the "fresh" roses. This was my first trip to FHL and what a great experience. The researchers were just marvelous - so caring and eager to help, not to mention their knowledge of research and the library. Above and beyond my expectations. I've started saving for another trip with you in the near future - this time I hope to bring my husband.

LYNNE, Colorado

Just wanted to let you know it was an exhausting week but one of the most beneficial I've ever experienced. Thank you for organizing and facilitating it. The researchers were knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I couldn't have accomplished half the work in that time frame without their help.

JANET, Alberta

Thank you again for a wonderful trip. I have only done Elderhostel group trips before, so my comparison is to them.
Your group trip was a bit more personal, less formal - which was more appealing - it was less expensive but had just as many side excursions. I would have no problems recommending you for this program.

ERMA, Washington

We had a wonderful time with y'all in SLC. I think about our time there EVERY day! Your event is so "user friendly" and focused on the participants. That's the way it SHOULD be!!!! I cannot believe that I never made it any farther than the hotel lobby to shop...but I felt no need! THAT'S a FIRST! The accomodations were wonderful and the location....well. That could NOT have been better!!!! The Conference Center tour was SO awesome and a treat. A highlight for us. We certainly hope to attend another week with Ancestor Seekers! All we had to do was get to Salt Lake City! So, so, so enjoyable.

PAT, Illinois

I can’t wait until I come back. Unfortunately I did not use the assistance offered as much as I should have, but the help I received when I asked was excellent!I loved the grand finale, listening to people’s stories. Thank you for having such a fabulous service!

JOANNE, Wisconsin

Everything has been wonderful. Thank you so much!

JANET, Florida

I really enjoyed my time in Salt Lake. It was the best time yet!

SUSAN, British Columbia

VOLA, Florida

To be sure a grand time was had by all....plus, of course, enlightening research guidance and findings provided by your wonderful staff. Everyone stepped up eagerly with their respective specialties. I applaud them all. You both are so personable, a super team to host Ancestor Seekers. I thank you.

SUE, Arizona

It was a great trip and I had a lot of fun. Thanks for keeping everything running smoothly

JO ANN, Florida

This trip was a great adventure for me in many aspects. The location and group activities were first class and just right after a day in the library. Since returning home I've been able to partly solve one of my "brick walls" stemming from the research assistance I received.. Kudos to all of you.

DONNA, Alberta

As we did last year, we felt we accomplished quite a bit in our research efforts and anticipate many months of sorting out the new information and adding more leaves on the family branches. Thanks to you and all the team members who truly went the second mile in helping us.

BEV, Arkansas

This was a lovely trip. Well worth coming and I enjoyed it so much!

MARILYN, Florida

I enjoyed the Garden Tour. I also just spent some time alone in Temple Square. Enjoyed the Tabernacle and visitor’s center, Assembly Hall and talking with the young women from around the world on missions.

SUE, Colorado

The Conference Center tour and Tabernacle Choir rehearsal was wonderful. Stayed for the entire choir practise and loved every minute.

PATSY, South Carolina

I thought the trip was fantastic. It was fun to research with other people and I did activities that were really fun that I was unaware of. You guys have the perfect introduction to Salt Lake research -- designed to be fun and productive. Thank you for a fabulous trip.

MARY, Nevada

I'm so happy to be able to share some of the experiences I have had during this wonderful week with Ancestor Seekers.
First of all, I have a son that lives in Provo so I have the draw of grandchildren that brings me to Utah often. I have come to the Family History Library, both in Salt Lake and at BYU, to research a particular line of my husband's family many, many times. I really have never been able to find anything on my own. Our first day of research (mine with Karen) was Tuesday morning. I sat down with Karen right away in the morning. I was immediately impressed with her knowledge, her wonderful attitude and her desire for my success. She guided me in the right directions, explained why we were going in that direction, and then frequently checked on my progress.
In short, every place she directed me to was a success. I found information (important information) literally for every source she sent me to and have presently added approximately fifty new names on a line that I had absolutely no information on - and I'm not through yet!!!!!
I would tell anyone who would be interested how valuable this week has been to me. I feel that my experience with Ancestor Seekers has been a complete success.

CAROLYN, Minnesota

This has been a great experience for me and would be well worth it for anyone involved in family research. Regardless of skill level, everyone should visit the Family History Library. I determined I've been pursuing the wrong 3rd great-grandparents for over a year. I had originally relied on two well regarded historian's transcriptions of my 2nd great grandmother's baptismal records. I determined these transcriptions were both in error after examining microfilm copies of original church records in the Family History Library. This is actually a great success for me as it ends a "wild goose chase" which never seemed quite right - now I can invest my time researching other ancestral lines.
I'm grateful to you and your excellent staff for a first class introduction to the library.

JACK, Colorado

This is my fourth trip with your group and quite frankly, I believe I have accomplished more this way than had I been on my own. With my past trips I have made major breakthroughs - discovered new family lines, etc. This visit my discoveries have been more modest but still very important to my research. The genealogists assigned to the British floor have, as usual, been outstanding. Their expertise and knowledge of the library' collections and records is invaluable - exceedingly time saving. On my own, it would take me twice as long. Also their researching experience allows them ways to suggest a different approach to a particular problem. In addition to the research assistance in the library, I so enjoyed this trip for all the people associated with Ancestor Seekers. They are friendly, approachable and truly interested in how I am doing. I have enjoyed all the offered activities during my various visits but I must say the play this year was not one to be missed.

GINNY, Oregon

Hooray! I came with two big goals - find my Scots in Canada and my Irish in Illinois. Both were accomplished! I could not have done it without the friendly, patient, cheerful Ancestor Seekers guides. They are terrific and helpful to those of us who are new to genealogy and also to those of us who have done it for awhile but are a bit daunted by then new technology!

PAM, Washington

Thank you for such a delightful week. It was productive and jolly fun both!

TAMARA, British Columbia

I had a great trip. The information and expertise I received from the "helpers"
there have made it much easier for me to locate the records I need! The theater performance was wonderful! I would love to join you all again.

THERESE, Missouri

I was very happy I attended. I had a breakthrough in my research with the extraordinary help of your researchers, in the last 15 minutes of the trip. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone, especially to those who haven’t been to the Mormon Family Library before. The location of the hotel was superb and the surrounding area of that section of downtown Salt Lake was beautiful. Everyone at the hotel, restaurants, library, etc. were friendly, accommodating, and helpful. I haven’t been to the theatre in years and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the actors, set decorations, and shape of theatre.

LISA, Texas

An excellent experience, an excellent room and the theatre was great entertainment. Enjoyed the Tabernacle Choir rehearsal. I was able to hear and see the Sunday presentation also. I attended all of the noon organ recitals also.

CLARENCE, Ohio

Everyone was extremely knowledgeable and patient with a beginner like me. I enjoyed the trip immensely and am definitely planning on attending again.

JOY, Michigan

A wonderful group of helpers. The closing dinner was a wonderful ending and a chance to interact for the final time with others in the group.

MARIE, South Carolina

I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to Salt Lake City, and to the fascinating world of the Family History Library and all of its resources. All of the researchers are very kind and knowledgeable and were willing to share their skills with us. What a stellar group of experts!!

ESTHER, Mississippi

I have been on two Ancestor Seekers research trips in the last four years and have found them both to have been very enjoyable and more than satisfactory. I would not hesitate to recommend it to someone with an interest in tracing their ancestors.

JOE, New York

I have been to the FHL many times, but this was the first with Ancestor Seekers. I can’t say enough about how enjoyable it was.

BETTY, Louisiana

Thanks for this great opportunity to search for family roots with the help and t of researchers who know how to use the library and its vast resources! Every family genealogist needs to take advantage of this research opportunity. Everyone was very patient and helpful, both our researchers and the library staff and volunteers.

SUSAN, Mississippi

Everyone was friendly & helpful - a great bunch of people.

DONNA, Ontario

We will definitely recommend the trip to some of our friends that do genealogy research. It was a wonderful week. Thank you. All of the research assistants were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They did everything possible to help us find our elusive ancestors and break down those brick walls!
The show was outstanding! We thoroughly enjoyed it. The closing dinner was a wonderful way to end the week. The house was lovely, the food was yummy, and it was great to hear the success stories!

SANDY, California

This was definitely the best organized and most fruitful genealogy event we have attended during the past ten years. Thank you for a memorable week!

BEVERLY, Arkansas

The hotel was so conveniently located - it was perfect. The room was of ample size and well appointed for genealogists - with internet, a desk and a small refrigerator. The bed was so comfortable I actually e-mailed the hotel to find out which mattress manufacturer made it!
What a great bunch of performers at the theater!!!! I thoroughly enjoyed this!

SHON, Michigan

I wanted to thank you for a very interesting and exciting week in Salt Lake City. The hotel accommodation were very nice, clean, spacious, but not overdone. We both enjoyed the special events. Thanks one again for an excellent session, and we will plan to see you in the future.

KEN, California

This is the first time we have attended something like this and did not know what to expect- especially with “researcher help”. It was money well spent for the complete program and I will recommend it to others.

GUERRY, South Carolina

The research assistance was wonderful! I appreciated that even if I didn’t work with a researcher’s area, they would stop and speak with me to see how I was faring. Very helpful.
I loved the Tabernacle Choir rehearsal! Also my first opportunity to see the Tabernacle

SUSAN, British Columbia

Thank you for a wonderful first experience in SLC. The Tabernacle Choir rehearsal was superb!

MAMIE, Texas

Can’t say enough about the research help. I have been telling everyone that the $$ were worth it for the assistance alone.
The closing dinner was fabulous. I was very pleased with the excellent food, service and ambiance.

BONNIE, Ohio

My researcher was a gem. She truly made my trip. I really only got to work with two other ladies the last day and they were fantastic as well.

For location, the hotel could not be better. The staff was excellent with me

SHARON, New Mexico

There is always someone there to answer a question or make a suggestion. All of our researchers were great and very helpful

MARY, Florida

The research assistance was absolutely wonderful.
The theater trip was the biggest surprise of all. Great performance in a wonderful theatre.

CHUCK, North Carolina

I just wanted you to know how pleased I have been with your assistance in my research while I attended your Ancestor Seekers Group program this past week. You have helped me greatly and I am so appreciative for your efforts on my behalf.
This is the second time that I have been a part of your group and I have been thrilled each time with the successes accomplished. You can be assured that I will be giving strong recommendations for attendance to anybody desiring assistance German research.

FORREST, California

Wonderful experience. I imagine you'll be seeing me again and perhaps with my sister. I especially enjoyed the Tabernacle choir practice and would do that again. I wouldn't want to stay any place other than the Plaza Hotel. It was so wonderfully convenient to get back and forth to the Library and right where I wanted to be. Thanks again to you and Carol for a very productive experience. New mysteries arise every day in my ancestor's records and I continue to work for breakthroughs. Our "coaches" were very helpful as were the missionaries at the Library.

MARY, California

I thought everything was wonderful! I can’t wait to go back!

SALLY, Florida

Because of the excellent arrangements made for us, and the first-rate assistance provided by the researchers, and the most interesting evening entertainments/tours, I am definitely planning to return to SLC at some point in the future. Having been there with your group, I think I would feel comfortable going on my own; but I loved the camaraderie and the “support group” atmosphere enough that, when I return, I will definitely be a part of one of your groups! Thanks for everything

CAROLYN, Tennessee

The best part of the whole trip was the people! From Keith & Carol to the research assistants to the volunteers and librarians, everybody was so very willing to help. Never did I feel I was bothering them with my “silly” questions.

HELEN, Ohio

The week was wonderful. I learned new techniques for research in addition to several tips on obtaining information through the family research library. Each of the research assistants that helped me were very knowledgeable in their areas. Working from 9-4:30 for 5 days was a dream come true. The evenings that were planned were very interesting and informative. The Hale Theater was such a delight but the Tabernacle Choir Practice and Organ Recitals were the highlights for me. THANK you for each of the opportunities you provided for this most beneficial week. The cost factor was without a doubt the best money I have spent in a long time. THANKS

MARTHA, Tennessee

I thoroughly enjoyed my trip. It was everything I expected and more

LINDA, California

Thank you so much for an excellent research week (and holiday, as well). Everyone was so friendly -- the participants, the research advisors, my roommate, and certainly all the staff at any of the events. I expect to be making a presentation to our local Family History Society at some point, and will certainly be recommending this as an excellent introduction to Research at Salt Lake.

BARB, British Columbia

It was a trip that I had been looking forward to and had a lot of fear that I would not be able to find the information I needed. However, as you mentioned what usually happens, I did find the missing link at eleven am the last day. I found the researchers that were assigned to us to be patient, very aware of what resources were there and always able to provide an alternative to another route of research.
Thank you for a visit that exceeded my expectations.

LYNDA, British Columbia

Many serious family historians think they are very good at it. It is the different perspective coupled with the incredible expertise from the Ancestor Seekers staff which gives that special insight to open the way for a great breakthrough. Everyone doing Family History should attend an Ancestor Seekers Research Trip!

ELAINE, California

You have an advertiser on the Ancestry Weekly Journal that I would like to recommend.
As I write this email, I am at the Plaza Hotel in Salt Lake City on the last night of my research trip arranged by Ancestor Seekers. I had responded to their ad which I saw several months ago on the Ancestry Weekly Journal.
I have had a wonderful week of research in the LDS Family History Library. I've learned how to use the Library's resources assisted by the experts that Ancestor Seeker arranged for our group of about 50 researchers. I was assisted with research in the United States and Europe and have filled in my family tree with more relatives than I can count at this time. More valuable than that is the fact that I have leads to many more of the family lines I am researching and will be able to followup at home online using Ancestry.com and FamilySearch.org.
Our hosts on this research trip were Keith and Carol Spillar, a delightful British couple, who made sure that our whole week went smoothly. Also, they arranged much needed diversions from our research such as tours of Temple Square including the Mormon Tabernacle complete with organ recitals and the practice session of the famous Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Our hotel, is located next door to the LDS Family History Library, directly across the street from Temple Square and within walking distance of many attractions in downtown Salt Lake City. Tonight, our group attended a farewell dinner which included our hosts, Keith and Carol, and all the experts who had assisted us.
This trip is a wonderful value and a wonderful experience. I attended as a single lady and quickly made friends with whom I shared my research experience. I highly recommend Ancestor Seekers Salt Lake City Research Trip. Also, I want to thank Ancestry Weekly Journal for bringing to my attention Ancestor Seekers.

Thank you so much for everything.

JAN, Oregon

Thanks so much for a wonderful week. I really enjoyed my first visit to SLC...and I know it will not be my last. I have spoken highly of you and your trip to everyone I have shared my experience with!!!!
The research assistance received was fabulous. Very helpful, always around and very gracious. I ended up meeting people at the hotel from other tours... and was so interested to hear that they had one researcher for their group about the same size as ours. This was, in my opinion, the greatest part of your trip.

MARILYN, California

Thanks for a wonderful week in SLC. It was very enjoyable and I hope to return some day

JON, Michigan

I just wanted to say thank you for a wonderful trip to Salt Lake.
I loved all the sightseeing trips we made. Salt Lake City is a lovely city to be in. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The scenery was beautiful and the history was fascinating. I appreciate all the time and effort which must have gone in to planning this research trip. Keep up the good work and I hope to see you on future trips.

This group was a lot of fun to be with and very helpful. I cannot tell you how great my researcher was. She never failed to check on us to make sure that we were having some success.
Thank you both for a wonderful week and I really appreciate all you do to prepare for these sessions.

JOAN, Arizona

I had marvellous experience in my first Ancestor Seekers program.

Just dropping a note to tell you how much I enjoyed my trip. I do hope I will be able to attend again. I was very excited about finding my ancestors and with all of the wonderful help I received while I was there. Please give my best to everyone involved in my great week.

MARGE, Maryland

Thanks for a great trip, for your help, patience and good humor., I know how difficult it is to deal with all those people needing your time. The visit to see "Camelot" was wonderful, the visit to Temple Square and the opportunity to see and listen to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir were highlights of the trip.
We hope at some point to be back in Salt Lake City, hopefully attending another Ancestor Seekers event.

JOHN and JUDY, California

I learned so much from the opportunity to use the library and have the assistance of consultants and classes.

PATTI, New Mexico

I just wanted to thank you all for such a wonderful experience in Salt Lake City and the Family History Library! I made some great discoveries and learned literally TONS. My consultant was just delightful and always checking to see how I was doing"

MARSHA, Iowa

Thank you, your wife and the researchers for making my first-ever trip to the LDS library such a productive and enjoyable one. My major breakthrough came on my first day there. I've been researching my father's line for 25 years and my brick wall was determining the parents of my 3rd great grandfather, a Tucker from Virginia. Other researchers had done considerable research on various Tucker lines, but I could never determine to which Tucker line I belonged.

I had been to the Amherst County, VA courthouse and had looked through the Amherst death records on microfilm at the Library of Virginia, but had no luck finding his death record. On my first day at SLC, I decided to take another look through the Amherst death records on microfilm. BIngo!! For some reason, the SLC version had a page that was not available at the LOV, and I found my 3rd great-grandfathers parents listed.
That immediately told me which Tucker line I came from and advanced by research by several generations.

I don't know that I ever would have learned those all-important facts without making the trip to SLC.

It was much easier doing research as part of a like-minded group and with experienced genealogists on hand.

It was a great success. Thanks so much!

KAY, South Carolina
